Happy New Year? Yep!

The back of Rachel's handmade card to me on Christmas morning...

I suppose it's a little late to be saying "Happy New Year", but since it's still January, and it's officially 1/11/11, I guess it's OK.

Happy New Year!

I am trying so hard to get things back to normal since our Christmas break. Every time I turn around, there's something else that pops up and demands my attention. I guess this is just one of those times in my life when constant juggling no longer works well. I am finding I must set a few things down and walk away. Just walk away! Oh, is that ever hard to do!

I have hated not blogging, but I just haven't been able to fit it into my crazy schedule. I have given up on checking Facebook. I just don't have the time. And it all takes time, doesn't it? I think it's somehow meant to make life easier, but I have found that oftentimes it just complicates things for me.

I send my warmest greetings on this wintry snowy day. Thank you for stopping by. I've so missed my blogging friends!

  1. Michelle,

Well, I'm glad to hear that you are still alive. :)

Your Christmas card from you daughter is precious. I was unaware that your daughter was into lipstick already, lol!

I hope that you can get your schedule under some kind of control. I think the holiday season always gets people off schedule in some capacity. I'm not completely "there" myself yet.

Well, take care, and if you have the time, come and visit me. I miss you too, you know. :)

P.S. Did you ever receive my last email?

  2. Hey Sweet Lady Rose! I did receive your e-mail and am loooooong overdue in getting back with you! You are so sweet to check in on me. Thank you!

Rachel has made me a Christmas card for a number of years now. I treasure each one and just loved her special kiss this year! When I asked her if she used my lipstick, she smiled and said, "Yes!" I don't think I have any worries though. Yet.

I am slowly digging out and trying to get a grip on everything. If I had a laptop I think I'd be in much better shape. LOL! I've been spending a lot of time driving kids to different places. Every single trip out is about an hour away (wait, wait, wait) and then an hour back home. Ugh. Rachel's sweet piano teacher told me to enjoy this time...there will be a day when I will miss it terribly. I'm trying to keep that in mind.

I will be stopping over to your place soon...I've missed your wisdom, my friend.

    Much love,
    Michelle

  3. Michelle!!!!
It was great to catch up with you today!
I remember those days - I used to have a bumper sticker on my van that said "If I am a mother at home, why am I always in my car?" The guys would just take their school along with me as I took a dear friend's mom to doctor appointments (Grandma Jane would treat us to lunch at Bob Evan's - it was always pancakes and chocolate milk for both boys!) or some of the other errands I just could not say 'no' to. Then I had one in college and one in preschool and no third car, so I was driving Alex to Wayne College; came home to get Anna up and ready for preschool; get her to and from preschool and then later in the day go get Alex. Of course, he could drive on the days Anna didn't have preschool, but that was only 2 days a week. . . Now I have days that I never have to leave the house and love it (but I do have to admit some days I get a bit stir-crazy). I also have days that I am gone 5 or 6 hours.
These times will wind down (and the kids will get driver licenses) and no one will remember what you didn't get done. . .it changes like the seasons, slowly at first, then all of a sudden you realize it is Autumn and all the leaves are in their glory! And you will not have as many places to go!
Love you, dear, even while you are waiting :D

  4. Just re-read the above - When I took Alex to college classes, Chris was home doing his schooling while Anna was still sleeping. It looked as though I would leave her in bed! AGHHH. Those who know me know I would never do that (I barely would let them out of my sight when they were young) - but others who might read the comments needed clarity.
